14th-15thC SILK EMBROIDERED BAG
The textile room, V&A, London
For my own unfinished version of the pattern ; yet to be linked
The pattern is known from cardwoven bands of the viking era and kept it's popularity far into the 17th C.
The Göss vestments from the 13thC uses the same pattern quite freely in a wider range of colors. By the 14th-15thC it appears to be a marked preference for a more uniform use of colors.
